Grant-Writing and Capacity Building Training
Dear CASP members,
Attached please find a very ROUGH draft agenda of a training opportunity
coming our way that is being sponsored by the US Department of Housing
and Urban Development (HUD). As one of our partners in the National Forum
on Youth Violence Prevention, HUD is leading the effort to provide the forum
sites of Salinas and San Jose with a FREE 2-day training relating to grant
writing and helping us submit the most competitive applications to federal
Mario Maciel from San Jose and I have been working closely with our HUD
colleagues from San Francisco and Washington, DC to invite the federal
agencies and departments that we as a group, most submit applications
to - e.g. DOJ, HHS, DOL, etc. At this training, attendees will learn what
the elements are of a successful proposal and how to "share your vision"
with those that are reviewing your application. Each site can take up to
25 individuals to attend this training - I encourage you to send your project
managers and/or those in your organization that are in charge of applying
DATE: Week of March 5 th (date not firmly established yet)
This is a great opportunity to hear direct feedback about the application/grant process
from those that are tasked with reading our applications. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity!
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
